2017 KISTEP-ISTIC S&T Innovation Training Program for High Level Policy Makers “Strengthening STI Capacity for Inclusive Development:
Korea’s Systematic Approach to National R&D Management”
13-17 November 2017, Seoul, Korea



Greetings from the International Science, Technology and Innovation Centre for South-South Cooperation under the auspices of UNESCO (ISTIC).

We are pleased to inform you that ISTIC which is a UNESCO Category II Centre and the Korea Institute of S&T Evaluation and Planning (KISTEP) will jointly organize the 2017 KISTEP-ISTIC S&T Innovation Training Program for High Level Policy Makers “Strengthening STI Capacity for Inclusive Development: Korea’s Systematic Approach to National R&D Management” which will be held on 13-17 November 2017 in Seoul, Korea.

The purpose of this program is to enhance the capabilities of high level policy makers from developing countries by presenting the experience of Korea. This program covers topics from Korea’s nationwide science and technology (S&T) policies to techniques for P.I.E. (Planning, Investment, Evaluation) which are beneficial for S&T policy makers and give a guide to improve the developing countries’ S&T capacity. To offer a practical and comprehensive instruction, interactive workshop including the analysis of each country’s innovation capacity and discussion will be conducted during the program.

On behalf of the organiser, we shall be grateful of you can assist ISTIC in announcing and informing to those relevant Ministries and Organizations in your country to recommend a suitable candidate to participate in this training program. The recommended participant should be holding a very senior position such as Vice Minister, Director General or Secretary General / Assistant Minister of Ministry of Science and Technology or Ministry responsible for Science, Technology and Innovation from your country.

The organizer will provide the local hospitality (accommodation and meals) to qualified international participants who are selected to attend this training program. Participants are however required to seek travel grant from their organizations to pay their travel expenses to Seoul, Korea. Limited travel grant from the organizer is available for participants based on merit and need on case by case consideration. For those participants who are willing to pay their own airfare, the organizer is agreeable to pay for their hotel accommodation and local cost.
